According to Nick Farago, these cards are proof cards produced by the manufacturer for approval prior to printing. You'll notice numbers written on their backs indicating the card number. These cards happen to be from the PXXXXX series.

There are an unknown number of cards as these cards do not appear in The Nickel Tour. However, these images may appear throughout the book with different numbers.
